A devastating accident occurred on Monday night in Mpumalanga, resulting in the loss of five lives. The incident involved an articulated truck that was transporting wooden logs and overturned on R33 Road between Carolina and Warburton.
Moeti Mmusi, spokesperson for the Mpumalanga department of Community Safety, Security, and Liaison, confirmed that all the deceased were males who were passengers in the truck.

The driver, among the three injured individuals, was rushed to the nearby Carolina Provincial Hospital for further medical attention.
In an update on Tuesday morning, Mmusi sadly announced that another person had succumbed to their injuries, bringing the total number of fatalities to five.
The victim was one of the three men who were initially taken to the Carolina Provincial Hospital. It is suspected that the driver may have lost control of the truck, leading to the tragic accident.
Following the incident, the road was temporarily closed as paramedics and law enforcement officials worked diligently to investigate the scene. Mmusi emphasized the importance of patience among motorists, as failure to exercise caution could potentially result in secondary accidents.
