Police in Dennilton, under the Sekhukhune District of Limpopo, have arrested a 33-year-old woman after she allegedly shot and killed her husband.
The tragic incident unfolded around 6 am on Monday when a heated argument erupted between a married couple. The altercation was reportedly sparked by the wife’s discovery of her husband’s infidelity. Overcome with a mix of betrayal and rage, she retrieved her husband’s licensed firearm from their home.
As her husband attempted to flee the escalating situation, she began firing shots. The scene quickly became chaotic as the husband tried to escape the violent outburst.
According to Limpopo provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the husband was ultimately found lying in a pool of blood. Emergency medical services arrived promptly but were unable to save him; he was officially pronounced dead at the scene.
The firearm, which is believed to have been used in the tragic crime, was confiscated by the authorities.
Preliminary police investigations have shed light on the couple’s background, revealing that they were both educators originally from KwaZulu-Natal. Colonel Ledwaba’s statement emphasized the gravity of the situation, noting the swift action taken by law enforcement to secure the scene and initiate a thorough investigation.
