The Border Management Authority (BMA) has confirmed a serious incident involving one of its officials, who was arrested by the South African Police Service (SAPS) while on duty at the Beitbridge Port of Entry.
The officer was found in possession of R 3700 and six passports belonging to foreign nationals arriving from Malawi. This case underscores the ongoing challenges faced by border management authorities in ensuring integrity amidst corruption risks.

Following the incident, the BMA acted swiftly by placing the implicated officer on precautionary suspension pending a comprehensive investigation.
