Investigation Findings and Parliamentary Proceedings

On Tuesday, the Department informed the Portfolio Committee in Parliament about the completion of its investigation into this matter, which has now been referred to the Hawks for further scrutiny.

The investigation gained traction after questions about Adetshina’s heritage and nationality were raised during her time as a finalist in the Miss South Africa pageant in August.

The Department’s Director General, Tommy Makhode, mentioned that both Adetshina and her mother failed to meet a response deadline regarding their South African national documents, prompting the proposed cancellation.

Further Developments and Social Media Activity

Officials have made attempts to locate Adetshina’s mother at a registered address, suspecting her continued residence in South Africa. Complications surfaced when it was revealed that she had travelled to Nigeria last month to support her daughter during the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, which Adetshina won.
