Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez in a private civil ceremony in the Portuguese resort town of Cascais. The 41-year-old football superstar and Rodriguez, 32, exchanged vows on Tuesday, bringing their decade-long relationship to a new chapter. Ronaldo shared a photograph of their hands wearing wedding rings on Instagram alongside the caption: “C (heart) G”.

The Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez wedding took place in Cascais, around 30 kilometres west of Lisbon, according to representatives for the footballer. The ceremony was described by the Brunswick Group, which handles Ronaldo’s public relations, as “private and intimate”. The couple’s five children were also present for the occasion.

The wedding followed months of anticipation and days of speculation in the Portuguese media about where the couple would formalise their relationship. Reports had suggested possible ceremonies in Sintra, near Lisbon, or Funchal in Madeira, where Ronaldo was born. Funchal attracted crowds to its cathedral after reports suggested the wedding could take place there, although the cathedral confirmed it had no ceremony scheduled for the football star.

Ronaldo And Rodriguez Celebrate Decade-Long Relationship

Ronaldo and Rodriguez first met in Madrid in 2016 while Rodriguez was working at a Gucci store. Rodriguez has previously described their first encounter as “love at first sight”. In a 2025 interview with Vogue Arabia, she recalled feeling “a sense of peace and an inexplicable energy” around Ronaldo, “as if we had known each other forever”.

The couple have since become one of the most recognisable celebrity partnerships in the world. Together, they have built a social media following of more than 750 million people across various platforms.
