Watch| Crocodile Handler Attacked During Live Show At Crocodile Creek

A man, who has been identified as a crocodile handler, was seriously injured after being attacked by a crocodile during a live show at Crocodile Creek in Greylands, KwaZulu Natal on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred in front of horrified spectators who had come to watch the show.

The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre received a distress call at approximately 14:48 from a visitor at the reptile park. Reacting swiftly, the RUSA officers were dispatched to the scene.

However, upon their arrival, they were informed that the injured handler had already been rushed to a medical facility privately.

According to a spectator who captured the incident on amateur video and provided it to the reaction officers, the handler was interacting with the crocodile when the attack took place. In the video, the man can be seen playing with two crocodiles while holding a stick before one of the crocodiles suddenly lunges at him.

Fortunately, the handler managed to free himself from the crocodile’s grip and quickly fled the enclosure. However, he sustained serious injuries to his leg during the attack.

Crocodile Creek is known for its live shows where handlers interact with the reptiles, showcasing their skills and knowledge. While accidents like this are rare, they serve as a reminder of the risks involved in working closely with dangerous animals.
