Humankind is already extinct in The Talos Principle 2, and robots created in our likeness and capable of thoughts and emotions have taken our place in the world.

In the plot, the machines explore a strange megastructure, and the player must answer complex laser riddles to progress while engaging in in-game discussions about awareness, love, and the future of humanity.

When we previewed the game a few days ago, we described it as “warm, welcoming, and slow.” Unlike most other sci-fi games and media, The Talos Principle 2 delivers an upbeat plot, possibly more thought-provoking than heart-racing, that you might appreciate if you need a vacation from the stresses of everyday life.

While it’s great that the game will be released this year, its publisher, Devolver, recently delayed the release of numerous other titles until 2024.

Skate Story, a stylised skateboarding game set in its interpretation of the underworld and featuring a glass demon as the main character, is one of those games.
