On a tragic Wednesday morning at around 7:30 am, a serious car accident unfolded on Andrew Mapheto Road in Thembisa.
The distressing footage that has emerged shows a red Hyundai i10, which was transporting young victims to school, driving in the middle left lane. Simultaneously, a white vehicle was positioned nearby, unaware of the impending disaster.

Accident Details
As the chilling video reveals, a black BMW suddenly veered from the last lane and collided forcefully with the Hyundai i10.
The impact was catastrophic, resulting in the death of a nine-year-old girl and leaving a thirteen-year-old boy with serious injuries. Compelling evidence suggests that the driver of the BMW, who fled the scene, was none other than Sekhukhune United’s right back and winger, Shaun Mogaila.

The Aftermath and Investigations
Ekurhuleni Metro Police spokesperson Thabiso Makgato revealed on Wednesday afternoon that Mogaila handed himself over to officers at the Rabie Ridge Police Station near Midrand, following the fatal crash.
At the scene of the accident, investigators discovered troubling evidence in Mogaila’s BMW. Four bottles of Don Julio tequila, along with a substance believed to be cocaine and marijuana edibles, were recovered.
