Bonginkosi Khanyile Joins UMkhonto WeSizwe Party In A Political Shift

In a video shared on his social media, Khanyile donned MK party regalia and reiterated his backing for Zuma ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Student activist Bonginkosi Khanyile, known for his involvement in the Fees Must Fall movement, has found a new political home in the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party.

The MK party, backed by former African National Congress (ANC) President Jacob Zuma, recently unveiled Khanyile as their national coordinator and youth leader. This announcement comes after Khanyile’s unsuccessful stints in the Patriotic Alliance (PA) and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).

Khanyile’s association with the MK party had been denied in the past, but his appearance at an MK party rally in KwaZulu-Natal led to his expulsion from the PA. Despite this setback, Khanyile expressed his support for Zuma and his intentions to join the MK party, which he considers his political mentor and father figure.

In a video shared on his social media, Khanyile donned MK party regalia and reiterated his backing for Zuma ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Addressing rumours of Zuma’s ineligibility for a third term, Khanyile confidently stated, “Zuma is going to be on the ballot, I’m telling you. We are coming in full force. We are coming by fire, by force. We are coming in like thunder. Now we are no longer sleeping, we are on the ground.”

As the party’s national coordinator and youth leader, Khanyile is poised to play a prominent role in shaping the MK party’s agenda and mobilizing support among the youth.

As the 2024 general elections draw closer, the emergence of the MK party and its association with influential figures like Khanyile and Zuma adds an intriguing dynamic to the country’s political discourse.
