The African National Congress (ANC) has recently made a startling revelation regarding the controversial 2019 election banners contract.
According to ANC general secretary Fikile Mbalula, two junior staff members of the party allegedly colluded with KwaZulu-Natal-based printing company, Ezulweni Investments, in relation to this contract.
Mbalula expressed the party’s shock upon learning about Ezulweni’s legal action to recover R102 million owed to them for services rendered to the ANC in 2019.
Ezulweni Investments initiated legal proceedings against the ANC in 2020 and emerged victorious in both the Gauteng High Court and the Supreme Court of Appeal.
The printing and marketing company has been engaged in a five-year legal battle with the ANC to obtain the R102 million it claims the party owes them for their services.
Mbalula, who was the head of the ANC’s election campaign in 2019, asserts that a forensic report, previously dismissed by the courts, provides compelling evidence of collusion.

According to him, Ezulweni Investments offered substantial bribes to the two junior party officials, who then forged documents to falsely indicate that the ANC had engaged their services.
In a desperate attempt to clear their name and prove their innocence, the ANC has approached the Constitutional Court. They hope that the highest court in the land will consider the evidence contained in the forensic report.
