Police Uncover Second Multi-Million-Rand Drug Laboratory In Gauteng Within A Week
Five people were arrested after mandrax and ecstasy tablets were found at a farm in Krugersdorp.

Five people have been arrested after police uncovered a suspected multi-million-rand drug laboratory in Krugersdorp. Officers found large quantities of mandrax and ecstasy tablets at a farm on Thursday. The operation was carried out by the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigations (DPCI).
Krugersdorp Drug Laboratory Bust Leads To Five Arrests
The Krugersdorp drug laboratory discovery prompted senior SAPS officers to visit the farm for further assessments. National police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said investigations into the suspected manufacturing operation were continuing. Police are still determining the full scale of the operation and the value of the drugs seized.

"Senior SAPS officers were dispatched to the scene to conduct further assessments, with investigations continuing into the suspected drug manufacturing operation," said Mathe.
Second Drug Laboratory Uncovered Within A Week
The drug laboratory investigation is the second such discovery reported in the area this week. On Tuesday, North West police uncovered a suspected mandrax-manufacturing facility on a plot in Skeerpoort, near Hartbeespoort Dam. Four people were arrested during that operation.

North West police spokesperson Adele Myburgh said officers recovered processed drugs, a drug production mixture and equipment allegedly used to manufacture drugs. Four firearms, including a rifle and three handguns, were also seized. The suspects face charges related to unlicensed firearms and ammunition, as well as dealing in and manufacturing drugs.
Police Investigate Suspected Drug Manufacturing Operation
The Krugersdorp drug bust remains under investigation as authorities assess the operation and the substances recovered. The five people found at the farm have been arrested in connection with the suspected laboratory. Further details on the quantity and value of the seized drugs are still being determined.
