The Mpumalanga police have made a tragic discovery by exhuming the body of Bonisiwe Mabuza, a 37-year-old woman who was found murdered and buried in a shallow grave at the Luphisa Cemetery in Pienaar, outside Nelspruit. Mabuza had been reported missing last Tuesday.
According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Col Donald Mdhluli, Mabuza’s VW Polo was found in a secluded place in Pienaar on the same day she was reported missing.
The vehicle had been stripped of its wheels, a side mirror, and the backseat. Additionally, several items were missing from her house, including a fridge and a TV set.
Over the weekend, police took a man and a woman in for questioning, leading to significant breakthroughs in the case. The interrogation resulted in the recovery of some stolen items believed to belong to the victim.

Subsequently, a third suspect handed himself over to the police on Monday. Col Mdhluli confirmed that the three suspects are currently facing charges of murder, kidnapping, and house robbery. Further charges could be added as the investigation continues.
The three suspects are expected to appear at the Kanyamazane Magistrates Court on Wednesday. This case has shocked the community, and the police are committed to ensuring that justice is served for Bonisiwe Mabuza.
