Tragedy struck on Sunday night at a residential high-rise building in the Point area of Durban when a security guard was allegedly shot dead by a guest.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m., following a noise complaint that the security guard had been investigating. According to Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen, a tussle broke out between the security officer and the guest, resulting in the fatal gunshot wound.

Paramedics quickly responded to the scene and the security guard was rushed to Addington Hospital. However, despite the best efforts of his colleagues and medical staff, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The entire community is in shock and mourning the loss of a dedicated and brave security officer.
