Police in the Western Cape are continuing their search for a third suspect in connection with a triple murder that occurred in Gugulethu on New Year’s Day.
Two suspects have already been apprehended by the South African Police Service (SAPS) on Wednesday morning, but authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the arrest of the remaining suspect.
Western Cape MEC for Police Oversight, Reagen Allen, commended the SAPS for their swift action in making the initial arrests. He emphasised the importance of community cooperation in bringing the third suspect to justice, stating, “I thank the South African police service for their speedy work in this regard.
“I encourage anyone with information to make it available to all law enforcement agencies so that the third suspect can also be arrested. It is critical that we remove any and all criminals from our streets and place them behind bars.”
The two suspects who have already been apprehended are scheduled to appear in court on Friday. However, the investigation is ongoing, and authorities are determined to locate and apprehend the third suspect as well.
The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any relevant information to the appropriate authorities.
