On Tuesday, a fourth suspect in the Loyiso Nkohla murder case is scheduled to appear in transit at the East London Magistrates Court.
The 41-year-old guy was apprehended on Monday in Cofimvaba, Eastern Cape while attending court for an unrelated matter.
Three other gunmen have already been apprehended in connection with the assassination of Cape Town politician and community activist Loyiso Nkohla.
The incident happened in April in Philippi, during Nkohla’s meeting with community members who live near the train tracks. This discussion was part of PRASA’s efforts to restore service to the central line.
One of the arrested individuals, who is believed to be the mastermind behind the attack, passed away while in custody. The motive for the Loyiso Nkohla murder is suspected to be linked to a business dispute.
Hawks spokesperson, Siyabulela Vukubi, stated, “The provincial head of the Hawks in the Western Cape, Major-General Makgato, commended the team for their diligent efforts in ensuring that all the alleged perpetrators are brought to justice.”
The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the truth behind this tragic incident and bring closure to the family and community affected by Loyiso Nkohla’s untimely death.
