The Limpopo police have launched an investigation into a tragic incident where a 63-year-old man was fatally shot while sleeping in his house at Tshitereke village outside Thohoyandou.
The pensioner was attacked in the early hours of Thursday, sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.

According to police spokesperson Col Malesela Ledwaba, an unidentified male intruder entered the house and fired several shots at the victim before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, a woman who was also present in the room managed to escape unharmed.
Upon receiving the distress call, the police arrived at the scene along with emergency personnel. Tragically, they were only able to certify the elderly man’s death. The identity of the deceased will be disclosed at a later time.

As authorities continue their investigation, they are urging anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect to come forward.
