A Heartbreaking Incident
The fire broke out suddenly at the back of the Minnies’ family home on Wednesday while Carl and his wife, Rita, 74, were at home with their grandchildren. Panic spread as neighbors gathered to provide assistance, but in the chaos, Carl ran back inside, thinking his wife was still inside. Tragically, he collapsed in the lounge, unaware that Rita had already made it to safety.
A Devoted Husband and Pillar of the Family
Carl and Rita had been married for 55 years and had built a loving family together. Their four children, 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren are now left mourning the loss of a man who would have done anything for his wife.
A neighbour bravely rescued Carl from the flames and rushed him to the hospital, but he succumbed to the smoke he had inhaled.
