Fihla stated, “There is currently a crime scene on Winnie Mandela Drive near the N1 south off-ramp in Bryanston, and based on the information we have received, a fatal shooting took place at the scene.”
He further added, “The South African Police Service (SAPS) is currently processing the scene, and metro police officers have closed the Winnie Mandela Drive off-ramp from the N1 south. As a result, traffic delays are being experienced from Rivonia Road, with further congestion expected towards Malibongwe Drive.”
In light of the situation, Fihla advised motorists to avoid the affected area and seek alternative routes. While the Gauteng police have acknowledged the incident, they have yet to release additional details regarding the shooting.
As the investigation continues, it is crucial for authorities to ensure the safety and security of all road users. Motorists are urged to stay informed about any updates regarding the reopening of the off-ramp and to exercise caution when travelling in the vicinity.
