On Monday morning, a shocking incident unfolded in Newlands East as a woman was found dead in the driver’s seat of a car.

The discovery was made by paramedics who were responding to a shooting incident at the John Dory’s Sports ground in the area. The South African Police Services (SAPS) were already present at the scene, with the area cordoned off.

Despite the best efforts of the paramedics, she was declared deceased on the scene. The motive behind the shooting remains unknown, and the police have launched an investigation into the case.

This tragic incident follows another shooting that occurred last Wednesday in Padfield Park, Pinetown. The victim, a woman, was killed in an alleged domestic dispute on Tyrone Road. Paramedics who arrived at the scene found the woman inside the house with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts, she was also pronounced dead on the scene.
