Police have recently made two arrests in connection with a violent attack that occurred at a police station on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast over the weekend.
The suspects, aged 27 and 36, have been apprehended for cases involving malicious damage to property, attack on police, and public violence. The incident took place during a protest action outside Umhlali Police Station on Sunday.
KwaZulu-Natal South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson, Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo, confirmed the arrests. She stated that the protest resulted in the damaging of state vehicles and a private security vehicle.

The arrests were made during a crime intelligence operation conducted by police from the Ilembe district, along with other law enforcement officers.
The two individuals who were arrested have already appeared in court, and investigations are still ongoing. Private security company, IPSS Electronic Security, revealed that the two suspects were part of a larger group apprehended in a specialized operation on Monday.
