Mkhwanazi is facing a number of accusations, including rape and murder, after confessing to killing six sex workers whose bodies were discovered at his father’s car business in 2022.
Prosecutor Lesikwane Mashabela stated that the state continues to believe that Mkhwanzi intended to rape and kill his victims, despite his claims that intercourse with the deceased was freely consensual.

“The only inference to be drawn is that they were bound on the mouth to prevent the deceased person to scream. Why would you do that if there was consensual intercourse?”
Meanwhile, Mkhwanazi’s lawyer stated that his client stands by his statements that the killings were motivated by a fear of being falsely caught, similar to the 2021 rape case for which he was eventually acquitted.
