In a disturbing incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a 44-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping two innocent children in Oranjeville. The victims, aged 10 and 9, were reportedly assaulted in an open field away from their homes.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on Sunday, April 7, 2024. The suspect, known as “Malume” (uncle), lured the young victims to the secluded field, where he subjected them to a horrifying ordeal. After the assault, he reportedly gave them money and threatened them into silence.
The children’s aunt became suspicious when she noticed a change in her niece’s walking pattern. Upon closer examination, she realized that her niece might have been sexually assaulted. Distraught and determined to seek justice, the aunt promptly took both children to the Oranjeville police station.
Law enforcement swiftly launched a manhunt for the suspect. Their efforts paid off when they apprehended the 44-year-old at his residence in Metsimaholo. He now faces two counts of rape and will appear in the Oranjeville magistrate court soon.
