Mother Finds Son Murdered During Dawn Search In Ndwedwe

A routine search turned tragic on Friday when a 42-year-old mother discovered the lifeless body of her 22-year-old son lying on the roadside.

The discovery by the Mother on Friday, prompted an urgent response from Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA).

Upon arrival at the scene, after being contacted by the mother,  RUSA officers found the victim’s body with multiple stab wounds to the head and face.

A pocket knife was recovered next to his body. The man’s identity has been confirmed, but his name is being withheld pending further investigation.

Victim Last Seen At Tavern

The victim’s mother reported that her son had failed to return home after visiting a nearby tavern on Thursday afternoon.

Concerned for his safety, the mother began searching the area early Friday morning.

Her worst fears were realized when she discovered his body just meters from the main road.

Witnesses at the tavern allege that the 22-year-old was involved in a violent altercation with several patrons before being stabbed repeatedly, possibly with the jagged edge of a broken beer bottle.

While these details remain unverified, authorities are investigating this as a potential motive behind the murder.

Police Launch Murder Investigation

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has opened a case of murder and is urging anyone with information about the incident or those involved in the tavern altercation to come forward.

The pocket knife found near the victim will be submitted for forensic analysis, and investigators are also reviewing possible CCTV footage from nearby businesses.

Following the shocking incident, local leaders are calling for increased patrols around nightlife establishments and for swift justice for the young man whose life was cut short.
