This tragedy comes just two years after the death of her brother, Thabiso, in July 2023, making this an especially painful time for the Ngwenya family.

A Father, A Pioneer, A Legend

In her emotional tribute, Lady Du described her father as “a pioneer, storyteller, and pillar of the music community.” She expressed immense gratitude for the legacy he leaves behind, noting that his impact stretched across generations and genres.

Though the family has not yet confirmed the cause of death, Lady Du has asked for privacy during this period of mourning, while thanking Mzansi for the outpouring of support. “Thank you for holding us in your thoughts and prayers,” she added.

SurgeZirc SA will share details of DJ Choc’s memorial and funeral arrangements once officially released by the family.
