2 Men Almost Hacked To Death Over Jackfruit Dispute

A dispute over jackfruit turned deadly in Redcliffe, KwaZulu-Natal, when two men were hacked and stabbed by suspects believed to be drug users.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning when the victims, one of whom works on a farm, encountered the suspects carrying a black refuse bag containing the suspected stolen jackfruit.

Violent Confrontation
A confrontation ensued, and the suspects produced a panga and a knife, repeatedly hacking and stabbing the two men.

The victims attempted to escape by rolling down an embankment and into a bush, where they concealed themselves until Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) officers arrived on the scene.

Investigation
RUSA officers recovered a bloodstained knife used in the attack and expedited the victims to hospital privately.

The perpetrators fled the scene, abandoning the refuse bag containing the suspected stolen jackfruit.
