Female Officer Found Dead In Her Vehicle Near School

The South African Police Service (SAPS) is mourning the tragic death of a 31-year-old female constable who was found murdered in Langa.

The officer, stationed at Bishop Lavis SAPS, was discovered in her vehicle near a primary school in Bennie Street with multiple gunshot wounds.

According to SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie, the officer had left her Kraaifontein home the previous night after completing her shift, en route to a church service in KwaLanga.

Her vehicle was later found at the scene of the crime, prompting an urgent investigation.

No Arrests Yet

The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) has taken charge of the investigation.

No arrests have been made yet, and detectives are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the apprehension of the suspect(s).

“This is a devastating loss to the SAPS family,” said Sub-council Chairperson Angus McKenzie.

“The killing of any officer is tantamount to terrorism, and such actions require the full might of the law.”

He added that the murdered constable was a well-loved and respected member of her unit and community.

Community United In Grief

The Western Cape policing community is reeling from the loss, with tributes pouring in for the dedicated officer.

This incident follows a weekend marked by violence in the Western Cape, with multiple shootings and arrests reported in separate operations across the province.
