While Ngema’s artistic contributions were celebrated, there was also a cloud of controversy surrounding his name.
Both of his ex-wives, Xoliswa Nduneni Ngema and Leleti Khumalo, accused him of abuse during their marriages. However, Maake kaNcube, who considered Ngema a gift to the arts fraternity, revealed that the musician recognised his mistakes and was committed to renewing his brand.
Maake kaNcube shared, “I’ve had conversations with him, and he had so much that he was looking forward to doing. He had hopes of the opportunity to do all those things that he wanted to do and really cleaning up his name, so to speak as well.”
