The brother of disgraced celebrity doctor Nandipha Magudumana, Nkosinathi Sekeleni, has come forward with explosive revelations about the duo. Allegedly paid a hefty sum of R30,000, Sekeleni spilled the beans on the showmax docu-series ‘Tracking Thabo Bester’.
Magudumana and Bester, desperate to prevent the airing of the docu-series, filed urgent applications to interdict it. However, their efforts were in vain as the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg gave Showmax the green light to air the series on their video-on-demand service.
Despite attempting to extort R100,000 from his sibling for his silence, Sekeleni has been hailed by many as a hero for exposing the truth about Magudumana and Bester. It all started in 2021 when Sekeleni outed the two in a Facebook post, which gained traction a year later.

Sekeleni’s affidavit reveals that Idea Candy approached him in April 2023, while his sister and Bester were arrested in Arusha, Tanzania, and subsequently deported to South Africa. According to the affidavit, Sekeleni was paid R30,000 for granting Idea Candy exclusive rights to conduct, record, and broadcast the documentary.
The freelance photographer noticed several red flags during his encounters with Bester. Despite being introduced as a New York-based businessman who had invested in Magudumana’s property investment company, Arum Holdings, Bester’s video calls always took place against a wall or with him lying in bed.

Sekeleni’s curiosity led him to discover that Thabo Bester was not in New York but serving a life sentence in Bloemfontein. Confronting him, Sekeleni was met with arrogance as Bester claimed his tracks were covered and no one would believe Sekeleni if he blew the whistle.
Undeterred, Sekeleni blew the whistle on the duo, providing GroundUp with his information. The scandalous saga continues to unfold, leaving the public eagerly awaiting the docu-series that promises to expose the truth behind Nandipha Magudumana and Thabo Bester.
