Hayibo! It seems Lady Luck is playing hide-and-seek with Zahara’s family. Despite their best efforts, the family has been unable to secure a venue for the much-anticipated concert in East London.
Scheduled for later this month, the concert was set to feature a star-studded lineup including Zahara’s best friend Vusi Nova, Nathi Mankayi, Mawethu Dikiza, Lusanda Mbane, and Khanyisa Nkantsu.

Speaking to TshishaLive, Zahara’s sister, Bandezwa Mkutukana-Febana, expressed the family’s disappointment. “It’s not going to happen now. We can’t seem to find a community hall, and we’ve been facing countless challenges,” she revealed.
“Zahara, bless her soul, fought tooth and nail to hold on to her house throughout her career. It was her sanctuary, her haven, filled with precious memories. Losing it would be a devastating blow to her legacy, and we can’t let that happen.”That house holds a special place in the family’s heart, and they are determined to keep it.”
Bandezwa explained, “To us, that house is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a symbol of Zahara’s journey and the love she poured into her music. We want to preserve her legacy, and that house is an integral part of it.”
Zahara’s brother currently occupies the house, but the family is eager to reclaim it. Bandezwa stated that they need “close to R1m” to buy back the house. Their original plan was to use the proceeds from the concert to fund the purchase. However, due to companies playing hardball and creating obstacles, the family is exploring alternative fundraising methods.

So, let’s keep our fingers crossed and support Zahara’s family in their quest to preserve her legacy. Together, we can help them overcome this hurdle and ensure that the spirit of her music lives on.
