Elderly Couple Attacked In Monday Morning Robbery

A violent home invasion occurred at the neighborhood of Crater Place in Everest Heights, KwaZulu-Natal, early Monday morning.

A man pretending to be a gardener brutally attacked a 68-year-old homeowner shortly after 08:00 before allowing accomplices into the house.

The suspects attacked both occupants and fled with valuables, including a Huawei smartphone.

Gardener Turned Attacker

According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), the suspect had been employed as a gardener only a week prior.

On the morning of the attack, he entered the home under the pretense of retrieving a ladder.

Instead, he launched a sudden and violent assault on his employer.

Two additional suspects then entered and began ransacking the home for valuables.

The victim’s 71-year-old relative attempted to flee but was dragged back inside by the accomplices.

Both victims were threatened with death if they tried to scream or resist. The male victim suffered multiple injuries, including the loss of a tooth, during the attack.

Suspects Flee With Cellphone, Valuables

After robbing the house, the suspects fled on foot with household items and a Huawei cellphone.

RUSA paramedics treated the injured man at the scene before transporting him to hospital.

Authorities are currently searching for the suspects and urge anyone with information to contact local law enforcement immediately.
