EFF MPs Applaud Naledi Chirwa’s Fiery Address In Parliament “We Know Who The True Criminals Are”

EFF MPs were beaming with pride as Naledi Chirwa delivered a powerful speech during the debate on the opening of parliament address on Friday.
In her speech, Chirwa remarked, “We know who the true criminals are,” as the EFF leadership faces scrutiny in the VBS Mutual Bank looting saga.
Chirwa, a National Council of Provinces (NCOP) member, had no kind words for President Cyril Ramaphosa, pinning societal challenges on his leadership failures.
Chirwa’s speech highlighted the struggles faced by the youth in South Africa. She stated, “To be young is to be in a stage of becoming, of working towards your goals and aspiration to transition from being dependent to independent. However, the youth of this country are perpetual children, and some will never know their independence until their old age.”
She criticized President Ramaphosa for failing to address unemployment and poverty, dubbing the situation the “Ramaphosa economy.”
She recalled the promises made by Ramaphosa in 2018 and 2019, including the creation of jobs, ending hunger, and improving the school curriculum. According to Chirwa, these promises remain unfulfilled, and the youth continues to suffer as a result.
Despite President Ramaphosa’s emphasis on combating gender-based violence and femicide, Chirwa argued that women continue to be killed in South Africa.
She asserted that Ramaphosa’s presidency is characterized by many promises and many failures, urging the youth to prepare themselves for a significant fight akin to the youth of 1976.
Chirwa’s speech also addressed recent claims made by convicted former VBS Mutual Bank chairperson Tshifhiwa Matodzi in his leaked affidavit, alleging that the EFF received illicit donations. She stated that the youth knows who the true criminals are, accusing various entities of stealing funds meant for public services.
Chirwa concluded her speech by emphasizing the need for economic freedom and the expropriation of land without compensation. Her fiery address received a standing ovation from EFF and MK party MPs.
