34 Year Old Mentally Ill Patient Raped At Parking Lot
A nurse on duty allegedly witnessed a horrific incident of rape of a mentally ill patient at a parking lot near a parked taxi on April 27, 2025.
A 34-year-old mentally disturbed patient was reportedly raped by a 38-year-old suspect from Tsitsikama locality.

Police swiftly responded to the call and apprehended the suspect, who raped the ill patient.
The suspect will make his first court appearance before Whittlesea Magistrates Court on April 29, 2025.
Authorities have condemned the exposure of vulnerable individuals like the ill patient to such crimes.
Elderly Woman Stabbed
In a separate incident, a 32-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a 64-year-old elderly woman at her home in Thabong.

The suspect reportedly insulted the victim, forced his way into her home, and stabbed her before fleeing the scene.
The victim managed to fight him off, and the suspect was later arrested at a nearby tavern.
The suspect will face charges of Assault, Malicious Damage to property, in the Welkom Magistrate’s Court.

Both incidents have sparked outrage, and authorities are working to ensure justice is served.
The suspects will face the law, with the rape suspect set to appear in court on April 29, 2025, and the stabbing suspect set to appear in the Welkom Magistrate’s Court soon.
