13-Year-Old Dies After Alleged Shoprite Cold Room Confinement

A heartbreaking incident unfolded at a Shoprite supermarket in Ratanda, Heidelberg, resulting in the tragic death of a 13-year-old boy, Bandile Tshabalala.

According to reports, Tshabalala was allegedly locked inside a cold room overnight by the store manager and a security guard. The incident has sparked outrage within the community, with calls for justice echoing through the streets.

Tshabalala was reportedly caught stealing a chocolate bar from the supermarket. Instead of following standard procedures, the store manager and security guard allegedly took matters into their own hands.

Shoprite, one of South Africa’s largest supermarket chains, has pledged to cooperate fully with the police investigation. However, the company has refrained from commenting further until the investigation is complete.

As the investigation unfolds, questions remain about the circumstances that led to Tshabalala’s death. Authorities are working diligently to uncover the truth and hold those responsible accountable.
