Zuma Party Will Help Us Beat ANC, DA Says

The Democratic Alliance (DA) has expressed its hopes that the upcoming election will result in the African National Congress (ANC) receiving less than 50% of the votes.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Union Buildings on Saturday, DA leader John Steenhuisen stated that the DA “anticipates a decrease in ANC votes.”

“The ANC has been in decline since the Jacob Zuma era, and the DA is poised to take advantage of this decline,” said Steenhuisen.

“The ANC has become a party that revolves around one individual, Cyril Ramaphosa, who has spent years protecting Zuma. Ramaphosa even helped Zuma escape justice, and they both played a role in the unrest at the Union Buildings.”

Steenhuisen further stated that the DA’s strategy is to unite opposition parties against the ANC. “This election marks a new beginning. We will not only challenge the ANC but also defeat them,” Steenhuisen affirmed. The party promises to create job opportunities, address the issues of electricity shortages and water scarcity, and combat gender-based violence.

“We will uplift the marginalised communities,” Steenhuisen added. The DA also called on the ANC to respect the Constitutional Court’s decision to release the committee records dating back to last year.

“After years of delay, we need transparency to expose Ramaphosa’s involvement in government corruption. The ANC owes it to the people to provide this information. I look forward to debating Ramaphosa and the ANC. No, you cannot buy time to provide records,” he concluded.
