ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa expressed confidence in the governing party’s ability to secure more than 50% of the votes in the upcoming general elections in Gauteng.
Speaking during a campaign rally in Mamelodi, Ramaphosa stated that he could “smell victory” for the ANC.

Accompanied by Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, Ramaphosa emphasized that the ANC was making a strong comeback, as the majority of South Africans still believed in the party.
Ramaphosa asserted that the ANC, being the home of the province, would receive overwhelming support.
He highlighted the positive feedback he received while interacting with people during his campaign, stating that many expressed their allegiance to the ANC. With this in mind, Ramaphosa confidently stated that the ANC would make a significant impact in the elections, regardless of any opposition.
Ramaphosa also emphasised the importance of young people registering to vote, as the future of the country lies in their hands. He encouraged them to take an active role in shaping their own destinies and the future of South Africa.
The ANC leader stressed the significance of democratic participation and the need for all South Africans, young and old, to support the party’s democratic dispensation.
During his visit to Mamelodi, Ramaphosa took the opportunity to address the concerns of residents, particularly regarding water supply.
He listened attentively to their grievances, demonstrating his commitment to addressing the issues affecting the community.

The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) expressed gratitude to South Africans for their enthusiastic participation in the voter registration process.
While the second and final voter registration weekend has concluded, those who were unable to register can still do so at local municipal offices or online until the election date is proclaimed by Ramaphosa.
