Watch| Passengers In Panic State Jump Out Of Burning Bus

On Wednesday, 27th March, a distressing incident occurred involving a passenger vehicle owned by Putco.
The incident unfolded when a video, shared on social media by Yusuf Abramjee, depicted passengers desperately jumping out of a bus that was engulfed in flames. The bus, enroute to Centurion, was forced to pull over on the side of the road as thick smoke and flames consumed it.

Putco issued a statement confirming that all passengers on board managed to escape the burning bus. However, 22 individuals sustained injuries and have been promptly transported to medical facilities for treatment.
Lindokuhle Xulu, the spokesperson for Putco, revealed that a preliminary investigation suggested the fire was triggered by a prop shaft snap, which struck the tire and damaged the wiring beneath the bus.
In response to the incident, Putco expressed regret and acknowledged the ongoing investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.

The company is actively collaborating with relevant authorities to gather all necessary information. Putco also extended their thoughts to the injured passengers and expressed gratitude to the emergency response teams.
