Lego’s Super Mario lineup is still going strong after three years, finally adding Princess Peach to its pool of beginning sets last summer and continuing to release fresh expansions since then.

The Fliprus Winter Adventure Extension Set, which is currently available, is a blast from the recent past, featuring an adversary from New Super Mario Bros. U. from 2012.

With the International Toy Fair on hold for the past few years, chances to see these sets in person have been limited, but we did get a sneak peek at them during a recent industry event in New York.

The Princess Peach Starter Set was released a year ago on March 10th (also known as Mario Day or “Mar10 Day”), and it has been accessible since August. The $60 bundle is the same price as the Mario and Luigi beginning sets, albeit those are more likely to be on sale because they are older.

In addition to the Bluetooth-connected Peach figure, the box includes Lemmy Koopa and a yellow Toad. A flower-adorned swing is also unique to the set; when the Peach figure is placed in the seat and pushed, she earns “coins” every time she passes over the sensor.

Peach, like Mario and Luigi, has LED eyes and a little screen in her chest. The eyes are pretty expressive, albeit a tad uncanny valley, but not as bad as what we’ll see in the upcoming Super Mario Bros. film.

The Fliprus set is the newest of the three, and it’s a little less expensive at $65, as it doesn’t feature any new Peach, Mario, or Luigi costumes.

It’s suitable with all three starter characters, albeit the icy-blue hue looks best on the Princess. Behind the Fliprus is a small catapult that fires an “ice” boulder, as well as a Cooligan (also from New Super Mario Bros. U).

Peach is already available for $45. Members of Lego’s VIP club can get double points on Super Mario purchases at the Lego site now through March 12th.
