Suspect Arrested Following Fatal Assault Outside Night Club

On Monday, February 22, a tragic incident occurred in the Westdene neighbourhood of Bloemfontein. A man’s body was discovered in a parking lot across from several bars on Second Avenue.

The discovery has led to an investigation and the subsequent arrest of a suspect in connection with the murder.

A video of the incident has surfaced on social media, purportedly showing bouncers from ‘The Other Venue (TOV)’, an establishment on Second Avenue, beating up the man. The video contains graphic footage and has sparked widespread concern and outrage.

On Monday, July 22, TOV management issued a statement regarding the incident. They reported that they received information about an assault just outside their premises, which tragically resulted in the death of a civilian.

TOV immediately contacted the Bloemfontein SAPS, conducted interviews, and provided CCTV footage and other relevant information, leading to an arrest.

TOV management expressed deep disgrace over the senseless nature of the crime. They assured their staff and the public that they are fully compliant with law enforcement to ensure justice for the victim.

They emphasized their commitment to ensuring that the actions of bad actors within the community do not destroy the livelihoods of their staff.
