Following his spectacular success as the Buccaneers’ biggest superstar, the Bloemhof-born player has been voted the North West Sportsman of the Year.

On Sunday, the North West Department of Culture Affairs and Sports confirmed the honour.
“SALENG SCOOPS SPORTS STAR OF THE YEAR,” the department announced via Twitter.
“Orlando Pirates player Monnapule Saleng won the Sports Star of the year award at the North West Sports Awards on Saturday, February 25, in Sun City,” the report added.
