Percy Tau has once again showcased his talent and love for Al Ahly as he scored a brilliant brace to help the Red Devils secure a 4-0 victory over Al-Masry in their opening match of the new campaign. The South African forward was named the man of the match after his stunning display at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria on Tuesday night.
Ahly’s dominance was evident right from the start, with Reda Slim giving them the lead in the 44th minute. However, it was Tau who stole the show with his exceptional goals in the 69th and 74th minutes.

For his first goal, Tau displayed his skill and composure as he exchanged a quick one-two pass with Mohamed Hany, turned swiftly, and unleashed a powerful strike that left Al-Masry’s goalkeeper helpless. Just five minutes later, Tau’s lightning-fast pace allowed him to outrun his marker and finish with finesse, capitalizing on an excellent long ball from Emam Ashour.

Although Tau had a challenging start at Al Ahly due to injuries, he has quickly won the hearts of the fans and become a key player for Marcel Koller’s side. Last season, he played a crucial role in helping Ahly clinch both the league title and their 11th Caf Champions League trophy.
This convincing victory comes as a redemption for Ahly, who suffered a 1-0 defeat to Algeria’s USM Alger in the recent Caf Super Cup match. Tau made a notable impact off the bench in that game, and his performance in the league opener has surely solidified his place in the starting lineup.
