In a recent turn of events, Elton Jantjies’s ex-girlfriend, Ashleigh Ogle, has seemingly responded to the news of his four-year doping ban.
The South African Institute of Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS) confirmed that Jantjies had been banned from playing professionally after testing positive for an illegal substance last year. Despite Jantjies’s claims of innocence, the window to appeal his drug test has now closed.

This is not the first time that Ogle has made allegations about Jantjies’s alleged drug use. In a tweet following the announcement of his ban, she wrote, “And you thought I was joking. TOLD YOU SO.” These words seem to hint at her previous claims about his substance abuse.

Last year, Ogle made shocking allegations about her former Springbok lover, including accusations of domestic abuse, substance abuse, and stalking. She even claimed to be “living in fear” after their split. These allegations have now resurfaced in light of Jantjies’s ban.
It is important to note that Jantjies tested positive for Clenbuterol, a fat burner that also aids stamina. SAIDS conducted the test in June last year through a urine sample.

Despite his vow to prove his innocence, he did not exercise his right to counter the failed drug tests, resulting in the four-year ban.
The situation surrounding Elton Jantjies’s ban has generated significant attention, with his ex-girlfriend’s reaction adding fuel to the fire.
As the rugby community grapples with this news, it remains to be seen how Jantjies will navigate this setback and what the future holds for his professional career.
