Manchester United’s in-form forward Marcus Rashford has lauded South African football icon Benni McCarthy’s influence at the club once again.
The 45-year-old completed an incredible shift to the English footballing giants as part of Erik ten Hag’s technical team and has made an effect as the club appears to be on the right track.
McCarthy’s position at Manchester United is that of attacking coach since he works closely with the club’s forwards, but he is also involved in the formation of United’s general attacking framework.
Marcus Rashford is one player who has experienced a significant improvement in his form since McCarthy’s arrival, and England forward has nothing but respect for McCarthy.
The 25-year-old United academy graduate has 35 goal involvements (25 goals and 9 assists) in all competitions this season and continues to thrive.

“Benni has been great with me and all the forward lads. You have to remember that Benni is part of a full coaching system.

“Everyone plays their little role and for the forward lads, Benni is that extra bit on top that we need. His relationship with me is good. We speak a lot. We are always analysing the games.”
Rashford has had an outstanding 2022-23 season. Many ascribed his increased performance to McCarthy’s influence, despite McCarthy’s efforts to minimise his influence.
