Radio Personality Penny Ntuli’s Treatment At Jozi FM Sparks Controversy

Less than a week after Penny Ntuli joined Jozi FM as their newest radio personality, rumours of trouble are already circulating.

According to sources, Ntuli’s colleagues are feeling a bit envious of the attention she has been receiving since her arrival. Let’s dive into the details and find out what’s going on.

Ntuli’s journey to Jozi FM began when she exposed Gagasi FM, a Durban-based commercial radio station, for offering her a meager salary of R2,800 per month for her show.

In a passionate Facebook and Instagram post, the 26-year-old revealed that she was initially excited about the opportunity until she learned about the insulting compensation.

She was offered the graveyard show on Sundays from 1:00 to 4:00, with a payment of only R711.98 per show. Ntuli expressed her shock and disappointment, stating that the proposed salary was far from what she had been earning for the past two years.

Determined not to settle for less, she approached management to review her salary, emphasizing that she couldn’t survive on such a meager income.

After her departure from Gagasi FM, Ntuli found a new home at Jozi FM as the host of their mid-morning chat show, which airs every Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 12:00. Since joining the station, Jozi FM has been rolling out the red carpet for her, making her feel welcomed and valued.

On social media, Ntuli’s colleagues, including Refiloe Motsei, have warmly embraced her. In a video shared by Motsei, we see Ntuli enjoying lunch with her boss, Mpho Mhlongo, and the rest of the team. The camaraderie displayed in the video suggests a positive and supportive work environment.

However, not everyone at Jozi FM is thrilled with the special treatment Ntuli has been receiving. According to an inside source, some staff members feel that the “princess treatment” is going overboard.

The source alleges that CEO Mpho Mhlongo has been personally chauffeuring Ntuli to and from the studio every day. Furthermore, Ntuli has been inundated with visits from various individuals, including politicians and celebrities.

This preferential treatment has left some of Ntuli’s colleagues feeling left out and expecting equal treatment for themselves. They argue that while Ntuli may be new to Soweto and Gauteng, the management’s actions are setting a precedent that could cause discontent among the team in the future.

In response to these concerns, CEO Mpho Mhlongo confirmed that Ntuli is indeed receiving special treatment. He explained that she is still new to the area and unfamiliar with the surroundings, so she is picked up by the company’s drivers. Mhlongo’s statement implies that the extra attention given to Ntuli is temporary and meant to help her settle into her new role.

As Penny Ntuli continues to make her mark at Jozi FM, let’s hope that the initial tensions subside, and a harmonious working environment is established for everyone at the station.
