Prisoner Escapes From Boksburg Correctional Centre

The Department of Correctional Services (DCS) is currently engaged in an extensive search for Martin Jackson, a prisoner who escaped from the Boksburg Correctional Centre on Wednesday.

The circumstances surrounding his flight from custody are still under investigation, according to DCS spokesperson, Singabakho Nxumalo.

Details of the Escape

Martin Jackson, who has been incarcerated since April 10, 2015, was serving a 20-year sentence for serious offences including robbery, theft, and possession of a firearm along with ammunition.

The authorities have expressed their commitment to pursuing every possible lead in the quest to recapture Jackson. Nxumalo stated, “Correctional services is working with other law enforcement agencies to locate and apprehend the escapee.”

In light of this escape, the DCS has mobilized significant resources to ensure that Jackson is brought back to justice swiftly. Nxumalo urged the public to remain vigilant and to report any sightings of the escapee.

He emphasised the importance of safety, advising individuals not to approach Jackson if they happen to see him, as there may be potential danger involved. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the nearest police station or a correctional facility directly.
