Linda Sibiya, the well-known former presenter of Ukhozi FM and a former staunch supporter of the ANC, has made a surprising move by joining the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF). Sibiya, who was known for his vocal backing of former president Jacob Zuma, officially joined the EFF on Wednesday in KwaZulu-Natal.
His decision to join the EFF comes after he launched a scathing attack on ANC MECs over the weekend. Speaking at a gathering of the EFF and the creative industry, Sibiya criticized the ANC MECs for their arrogant behavior, stating that they think they are gods just because they have blue lights on their vehicles.
Sibiya also accused the ANC MECs of blacklisting artists and preventing them from getting booked for government events or government-funded concerts. He claimed that whenever artists complained about being neglected, the MECs would condemn them to hunger and poverty.
Although Sibiya did not name the specific MECs he was referring to, his strong words sparked speculation about his political allegiance. And now, it has been confirmed that Sibiya has indeed joined the EFF, a move that has been welcomed by party members and supporters.
