Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) deputy president Floyd Shivambu has stated that the crisis of water provision in South Africa is not a result of unforeseen natural disasters but rather a man-made problem.

Shivambu emphasized that the poor water management and governance by the governing party are to blame for the current situation. This topic was discussed in the National Assembly on Friday, where Shivambu sponsored the discussion on the water provision crisis.

It is widely acknowledged that the water crisis is a serious problem affecting communities across the country.

However, Shivambu argues that there is no justification for poor communities in many municipalities not being able to access water. He believes that it is the state’s duty and obligation to provide clean water to all citizens.
