Duduzane Zuma, son of former South African president Jacob Zuma, has announced his plans to launch a new political party in time for the upcoming national elections.
In an interview with Sunday World, Zuma, also known as DZ, expressed his disillusionment with the ruling African National Congress (ANC) and his desire to bring about meaningful change through his own party.
Zuma emphasized that his party would offer a new and realistic vision for the country, focusing on inclusive narratives and society-driven solutions.

He believes that the current electoral system, while based on democratic values, does not accurately represent the will of the people.
Zuma pointed out that the voting majority’s desires have often been undermined by political and business leaders, leading to a lack of progress and a failure to benefit the people.
The presidential candidate placed a significant emphasis on the role of the youth in driving change. Zuma believes that the youth themselves are partly to blame for the current state of affairs, citing a lack of self-respect, discipline, and a tendency to make excuses.
He called for a change in mindset, urging the youth to take themselves seriously, respect others, and embrace a spirit of hard work.
When asked if he was affiliated with his father’s MK Party, Zuma made it clear that he is part of something new and game-changing. He expressed his commitment to creating a party that will address the desperate need for change in the country.
Zuma aims to move away from the politics of desperation and towards the politics of inspiration. His party plans to create positive and active role models, provide access to finance for those willing to seize opportunities, and foster a shift from a consumer mentality to a producing one.
Regarding his departure from the ANC, Zuma simply stated, “The ANC decided to leave me.” While his popularity among the youth is growing, Zuma emphasized that his party would be inclusive and open to people of all ages, races, religions, and cultural backgrounds.
He believes that the youth will play a crucial role in driving the movement, but the party’s appeal will extend to all who understand the need for change.
In a separate event, former president Jacob Zuma addressed a large gathering in Piet Retief, Mpumalanga, indicating ongoing political activity within the family. As Duduzane Zuma prepares to launch his own political party, the political landscape in South Africa continues to evolve.
