Busisiwe Mkhwebane, the impeached former Public Protector of South Africa, has officially resigned from her position within the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).
The announcement came on Wednesday morning as she presented her resignation letter to EFF leader Julius Malema and his top executives.

In her resignation letter, Mkhwebane expressed deep disillusionment regarding her experience over the past seven years, indicating that her fight for freedom had ultimately been in vain. “The past seven years have made me realise that our fight for freedom was in vain.”
She articulated her feelings of being wronged, stating, “there has never been a time when I felt my rights were violated as it has been done in the years I was the South African Public Protector.”
