The Democratic Alliance (DA) will be holding the Party Policy Conference this weekend, on the 5 and 6. Their policy will focus on confronting socioeconomic challenges in South Africa.

“At our #DAPolicyConference this weekend, we will take the lead in confronting the socioeconomic challenges facing millions of South Africans and get behind a common set of solutions,” said DA.

DA said the Values and Principles document they will adopt is the social contract would like to co-sign with the people of SA.
The party said social contract will be their point of departure and all their conducts will align for it every time.
“It is the point of departure for the rest of our policy positions — all our conduct will conform to it, and we’ll measure ourselves against it,” said DA.
However, they said they have always said that they stand for freedom, fairness, opportunity, and diversity.

This a chance to reaffirm these commitments, and others such as to a social market economy, evidence-based decision-making, redress, and nonracialism.
In addition, this approach differentiates them within a political landscape where politicians are not known to hold themselves to a clearly stated set of values which can be scrutinised by the public.
