PA’s Kenny Kunene Criticizes Miss SA Contestant Chidimma Adetshina Over Allegiance Claims

The deputy president of the Patriotic Alliance, Kenny Kunene, has recently intensified his criticism of Miss South Africa contestant Chidimma Adetshina.

Kunene alleges that Adetshina’s ‘allegiance’ lies with Nigeria, raising questions about her suitability to represent South Africa. These allegations stem from Adetshina’s diverse parentage, with a Nigerian father and a South African mother of Mozambican descent.

Earlier this week, the Patriotic Alliance (PA) announced their intention to pursue legal action to prevent Adetshina from participating in the Miss South Africa competition.

Speaking to the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), Kunene emphasized that the PA aims to prioritize South Africans in all aspects. He referenced a viral video where Adetshina is embraced by Nigerians as evidence of her supposed allegiance.

Kenny Kunene further expressed doubts about the validity of Adetshina’s South African identity. Despite the Miss South Africa pageant’s assurances that they have verified her identity documents, Kunene hinted at potential fraud concerning her ID.

He stated, “We can’t trust a private company that seeks to make a profit. We want a transparent vetting process”.

Kunene mentioned that the PA intends to go to court to seek clarity regarding Adetshina’s nationality.
